China, Pakistan emphasize greater cooperation and coordination on Afghanistan

After a meeting between high-ranking officials of the two countries in Beijing, China and Pakistan emphasized the expansion of cooperation and further coordination on Afghanistan and warned that Afghan soil should not be used to threaten regional security. This issue was raised in a joint statement after Shahbaz Sharif’s four-day visit to China.

The two countries, while welcoming the trilateral talks between Afghanistan, Pakistan and China, emphasized cooperation in counter-terrorism, trade, artificial intelligence and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project.

Meanwhile, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has once again emphasized its position of not using Afghan soil against other countries.
