Emphasis on Afghanistan’s role in connecting Central and South Asia at Termez Summit

On the sidelines of the Termez Dialogue on “Connecting Central and South Asia,” a high-level specialized meeting on Central Asia and Afghanistan was held with the participation of officials, experts, and representatives of countries in the region.

The Afghanistan Center for Strategic Studies announced that the participants of the meeting considered Afghanistan an important bridge connecting Central and South Asia and emphasized the importance of regional cooperation, continuous dialogue, and inclusive economic initiatives.

The meeting discussed and reviewed issues such as the development of trade corridors, expansion of transport and energy links, increasing economic cooperation, and building trust through continuous interaction among the countries of the region.

Representatives of the Center for Strategic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan also attended the program and presented their views on regional priorities and ways to strengthen joint cooperation.

The participants concluded by emphasizing the shared commitment to creating a stable, connected, and prosperous region and considered closer cooperation between the Central Asian countries and Afghanistan essential to exploit the vast potential of regional integration.
