Baqaei: Iran’s plan is generous / We are strategic partners with China

Esmail Baghaei, spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, responded to the US President’s statements regarding Iran’s proposed plan, saying that Iran did not demand any concessions and only demanded its legitimate rights. According to him, the judgment on these demands should be left to public opinion.

He cited the cessation of hostilities in the region, the end of what he called maritime piracy against Iranian ships, and the release of frozen Iranian assets as among the items raised in the Iranian plan, adding that these proposals were “reasonable and generous and in line with regional peace.”

Mr. Baghai criticized Washington’s positions and emphasized that the United States continues to insist on demands that, according to him, were influenced by the approaches of the Zionist regime.

He also responded to a question about Iran-China relations, saying that China is Iran’s strategic partner and bilateral talks are continuing at the highest level. He added that Beijing is aware of Tehran’s positions on regional issues and that stability in the Persian Gulf is important to both countries.
