Energy shock from war against Iran in Southeast Asia ASEAN seeks common solution

The countries of Southeast Asia (ASEAN) are seeking to develop a coordinated solution to deal with the consequences of the Middle East crisis ahead of the association’s summit on Friday.

According to a Reuters report, the aim of these countries is to reduce pressure from the energy shock, which is said to have affected the economies of some member countries.

ASEAN leaders have called for the development of a joint strategy to ensure energy and food security, especially in light of the “nearly 70-day blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.”
