China to build 9 advanced border facilities on Tajikistan-Afghanistan border

Tajik officials announced that China is to build nine border infrastructure facilities along the Tajik-Afghan border.

This agreement was approved at a session of the House of Representatives of the Supreme Assembly of Tajikistan and is aimed at strengthening the technical and equipment capabilities of the Tajik border forces.

The facility will include buildings equipped with advanced surveillance systems, telecommunications equipment, and engineering infrastructure, and their total area is estimated to be about 17,000 square meters.

The cost of implementing the project is nearly 424.8 million yuan (Chinese yuan), which is fully funded and free of charge by the Chinese government.

Tajik security officials emphasized that several other border facilities had previously been built in cooperation with China based on bilateral agreements.
