New round of Iran-Afghanistan border talks held at shared border
The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul announced that another round of border negotiations within the framework of the understanding between high-ranking border officials of the two countries was held on Wednesday (24th of February ) at the border zero point.
According to the embassy’s press release, in this meeting, the two sides emphasized the common will to maintain border security, strengthen border cooperation, and prevent any tension, and considered these issues to be among the strengths of Iran-Afghanistan relations.
These negotiations are taking place at a time when relations between the two countries have faced challenges in recent years in the areas of border migration and security, and efforts to expand bilateral cooperation are on the agenda.
