In his speech at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan called for ensuring the security of the Persian Gulf and freedom of navigation in international waterways, especially the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab.
Bin Farhan said that the security of the Persian Gulf is an integral part of regional and global security, and threats to international navigation can have consequences for the global economy.
The Saudi Foreign Minister also claimed that the country and a number of countries in the region have been targeted by Iranian attacks and that their security and economic resources have been damaged; this is part of the statements and claims of Saudi officials.
He supported efforts to reduce tensions in the region, including efforts by Qatar and Pakistan to help bring stability.
