Trump’s harsh reaction to Zahran Mamdani’s victory in the New York mayoral election

In an interview with Fox News and in his speech at the American Business Forum in Miami, US President Donald Trump reacted to the Republicans’ defeat in the recent elections and Zahran Mamdani’s decisive victory in the New York mayoral election, describing these results as disappointing.

Trump attributed the Democrats’ victory in New York, New Jersey, and Virginia to the absence of his name on the ballot and the government shutdown, and considered it an opportunity to attack the left.

“It was an unexpected victory last night; these are heavily Democratic districts, but I don’t think it’s a good result for Republicans… and I’m not even sure it’s good for anyone,” he said in a live interview on Fox News.

The US president specifically attacked the historic victory of Democratic socialist activist Zahran Mamdani, who became the youngest and first Muslim mayor in New York history, calling him a “communist” and an “enemy” of the Jews.Trump added: “Let’s see how a communist operates in New York.

We’ll see where it goes. We’ll help them a little bit because we want New York to be successful.”

He claimed that with this victory, New York’s sovereignty would be lost and businesses would flee the city.

Trump emphasized that Mamdani must respect Washington, otherwise he will have no chance of success… He must be in touch with us.

The US president continued: “I think he should have been a lot kinder to me… I’m the one who has to approve everything.”

Trump’s statements come at a time when Mamdani’s victory is seen as a major achievement for progressive Democrats and has sparked widespread reactions in American political circles.
