Saudi Arabia, Qatar call for diplomatic solution to Pakistan-Afghanistan dispute
The foreign ministries of Saudi Arabia and Qatar have expressed concern over the recent clashes along the hypothetical Durand Line between Pakistan and Afghanistan and called for a resolution of the differences through dialogue and diplomacy.
Saudi Arabia, while supporting regional and international efforts to consolidate peace and stability, emphasized the need to resolve problems wisely and in order to ensure the security and well-being of the Pakistani and Afghan sides.
The statement came after Pakistan was accused of repeatedly violating Afghanistan’s territory.
Meanwhile, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs also called on both sides to adopt a diplomatic approach to prevent the escalation of the crisis and maintain regional security and stability.
These reactions followed the country’s border forces’ operations against the Pakistani side in the area of the hypothetical Durand Line.
