UN Security Council to hold special meeting on Afghanistan tomorrow
The United Nations Security Council announced that it will hold a special meeting on the situation in Afghanistan tomorrow, Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
According to the council’s statement, a quarterly report on the situation in Afghanistan will be presented at this meeting.
Roza Otunbayeva, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, is scheduled to present her latest report at the meeting, which will be held at 10:00 a.m. New York time.
This comes as Otunbayeva’s mission in Afghanistan ends in September 2025.
