British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, in response to the start of the Israeli army’s ground attack on Gaza City, stated that the attack was reckless and absolutely horrific and would result in the deaths of more innocent civilians.
He added that this operation puts Israeli hostages in serious danger.
In a statement to the British Parliament, Lamy described the attack as immoral and completely counterproductive, emphasizing that the Israeli government is destroying the chances of peace with these actions.
In response to the suspension of free trade negotiations with Israel, Britain has summoned the country’s ambassador and imposed new sanctions against West Bank settlers.
This stance is part of growing international pressure on Israel to stop military operations and allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza.
