Trump: We lost India and Russia to Dark China
On Friday (September 5, 2025), US President Donald Trump wrote in a post on the social network Truth Social, publishing a photo of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, “It seems we have lost India and Russia to Dark China; I hope they have a long and prosperous future together!”
The remarks, delivered in a sarcastic tone, came after the recent Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin, China, where the leaders of the three countries met and emphasized strengthening economic and strategic cooperation.
Trump’s post reflects Washington’s concern about India and Russia’s growing proximity to China and the shift in the geopolitical balance toward a multipolar order that reduces American influence.
These statements come at a time when India, while maintaining long-standing relations with the United States, has faced criticism from the United States for purchasing oil and military equipment from Russia and strengthening relations with China in frameworks such as the SCO and BRICS.
