In response to the US Treasury Secretary’s remarks accusing New Delhi of profiting from buying Russian oil, the Indian Foreign Minister said: “We did not force you to buy petroleum products from us.”
This decisive response came in the wake of US criticism of India’s oil cooperation with Russia.
The remarks reflect diplomatic tensions between the two countries over energy policies, as India, as one of the largest buyers of Russian oil, continues to defend its economic interests.
