In a report of this week’s meeting between US and Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia, NBC wrote that the focus of Trump’s team is on persuading Volodymyr Zelensky to offer more concessions in negotiations.
According to BC, Donald Trump has made it clear to Ukraine that, in addition to mines, he wants to change Zelensky’s approach on peace and concessions such as handing over land to Russia.
Trump also wants Zelesanky to move towards holding elections in Ukraine and possibly stepping down.
Based on this report, the Trump administration believes that the president of Ukraine should offer concessions beyond the mining agreement for the resumption of American aid and the re-establishment of information sharing.
However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has said that he is ready for the mining agreement.
