Velayati :Regional corridors without passing through Iran would be costly or unsustainable
Ali Akbar Velayati, advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran on international affairs, has emphasized Iran’s geographical position in the region’s transit and security equations in a message on the X social network, referring to regional developments and the discussion of the formation of a new order in West Asia.
Velayati wrote that Iran is located between the Persian Gulf, Central Asia, the Caucasus, and the Sea of Oman, and any energy or transit corridor that bypasses Iran will face higher costs or instability.
He also emphasized, referring to the crises in Gaza, the Red Sea, Lebanon, and Iraq, that the security of the countries in the region is not separate from each other, and that either collective security is ensured or all countries in the region will face insecurity
