Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has threatened European countries that if they take military action against Russia, a short and fierce war will ensue, and Moscow will use all of its nuclear weapons capabilities to respond.
Zakharova said that Russia does not intend to threaten European countries, but in the event of aggression, Moscow has the necessary capabilities to counter it and defeat any aggressor.
He added: “If European countries attack Russia, it will be a completely different war, a war that will be very short.”
The Russian Embassy in London also threatened in a statement that any military action by Britain or NATO against Russian territory would be responded to using all means at Moscow’s disposal, including nuclear weapons.
These statements come as tensions between Russia and European countries have escalated over the war in Ukraine and increased military support for Kiev.
