Kim Jong-un and Putin emphasize expanding ties with China

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Russian President Vladimir Putin, in separate messages to Chinese President Xi Jinping, emphasized strengthening and expanding relations with Beijing.

Kim Jong-un has said that North Korea intends to elevate its relations with China to a new level. He has also praised China’s achievements, calling these developments a sign of the country’s increasing national power and international standing.

Putin also described Russia-China relations as at an unprecedented level, saying that the two countries are regularly implementing major joint projects in various sectors and coordinating their cooperation in the international arena to create a more just and multipolar world order.

These messages were sent on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
