Airbus has developed the “Bird of Prey” drone to automatically identify and intercept suicide drones. The cost of manufacturing each part of this drone is reported to be around $20,000.
This drone is designed to counter kamikaze targets >>Frankenburg Mk1 and can fire ultralight missiles at targets. These missiles have electro-optical guidance and short range.
“The bird of prey has a wingspan of 2.5 meters, a length of 3.1 meters, and a weight of about 160 kilograms. It is currently equipped with four missiles, the number of which is set to increase to eight in the future.”
The range of each of these missiles is stated to be about 1.5 kilometers.
