In a speech at the United Nations General Assembly, Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani said that West Asia is in one of its most dangerous stages and that regional disputes and crises must be resolved through dialogue and negotiation.
The Emir of Qatar emphasized that the passage of time does not resolve unresolved conflicts, but rather increases their costs. He also said that the crisis in the Persian Gulf must be resolved through diplomatic channels and that the opportunity to achieve a peaceful solution should not be missed.
Referring to the situation in Gaza, Tamim bin Hamad said that what happened in the region, in his opinion, is “genocide” and a stain on the conscience of humanity; he criticized the international response to these events and said that future generations will question the gap between the dimensions of this disaster and the level of global response to stop it.
The Emir of Qatar also said that the conflicts have spread to neighboring countries and have affected the security of the region; referring to the situation in southern Lebanon, he emphasized the need for equal implementation of the law for all, and said that the rule of law should not be applied only to weak countries.
