The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Public Relations Department announced that in response to US actions against Iranian tankers and vessels, the IRGC’s Aerospace Force targeted two US combat destroyers, DDG-119 and DDG-53, in an operation codenamed “Ya Heydar Karrar.”
The announcement claimed that the two destroyers were carrying cruise missiles and the Aegis missile defense system and that they suffered significant damage after being hit by ballistic missiles.
The IRGC has also announced that the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran remain prepared to respond to US actions and have warned against any “miscalculation.”
This announcement was further issued in honor of the Iranian people, martyrs, and the country’s armed forces.
