According to reports, a car crashed into a crowd in Tiergarten Park in Berlin, the capital of Germany, and hit a number of citizens.
Berlin police have announced that one person has died and at least 15 others have been injured as a result of the incident; earlier initial reports had indicated that dozens of people had been injured.
Police officials added that a massive security operation is continuing in the Tiergarten area and that citizens have been asked to avoid the area until further notice.
The German newspaper Bild reported that the incident occurred during a ceremony in the Tiergarten park; the motive and details of the incident have not yet been announced by German authorities.
