UNAMA confirms 28 civilians killed in Pakistani airstrikes on Afghanistan

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has announced that at least 28 civilians have been killed and 49 others injured in recent airstrikes by the Pakistani military regime on the provinces of Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar.

UNAMA emphasized in a statement that women and children are also among the victims of these attacks.

According to the statement, 22 civilians were martyred and 47 others were injured in an airstrike on Samkani district of Paktia province; six civilians were also killed in an attack on Gyan district of Paktika province, and two children were injured in Munawara district of Kunar province.

This UN body has emphasized the need to protect civilians and comply with international humanitarian law.

This is despite the fact that Islamic Emirate officials had previously announced that the number of victims of Pakistani airstrikes had reached 36 martyrs and 163 wounded.
