Gas tanker explosion in central Mexico injures three
Rescue and security forces have been deployed extensively at the site after at least three gas tankers exploded in the city of Tebea, Puebla state in central Mexico. Authorities suspect that the tankers were being used to illegally transport gas.
According to residents, several loud explosions occurred and large columns of smoke were seen in the sky. Following the incident, a school near the scene was evacuated as a precaution, and 1,753 students were returned to their families.
Civil protection forces, firefighters, police and members of the Mexican Navy were dispatched to the area to contain the fire and investigate the cause of the incident. Local authorities have announced that three people have been injured in the incident so far.
