Pakistani sources: Increasing demands from Iran and the US have led to a deadlock in the talks

Pakistani sources have told Al Jazeera that Iran and the US’ insistence on increasing their demands regarding uranium and the Strait of Hormuz has caused a stalemate in negotiations between the two countries.

According to these sources, Islamabad remains optimistic that Tehran and Washington will reach an interim agreement.

Earlier, the spokesperson for the Pakistani Foreign Ministry announced that China supports Pakistan’s mediation efforts and that the two countries have jointly presented a five-point initiative.

The Pakistani Prime Minister is also scheduled to discuss a joint initiative to end the war during his visit to China.
