World Food Program: Malnutrition levels in Afghanistan have reached dangerous levels

The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) has announced that malnutrition levels in Afghanistan have reached dangerous levels, and the closure of routes with Pakistan, floods, earthquakes and reduced humanitarian aid have worsened the situation.

The organization said that the Middle East crisis, rising fuel prices and disruptions in supply routes have also affected the aid delivery process.

The World Food Program has appealed for $350 million in urgent assistance to continue its relief operations over the next six months.
