Media reports indicate that an explosion has occurred at the Chalmette refinery in the US state of Louisiana.
According to reports, the intensity of the explosion was so great that houses several kilometers away shook and customers at restaurants near the scene of the incident scattered.
The Chalmet refinery is one of six refineries owned by PBF Energy, which was acquired in 2015.
The refinery is said to process about 185,000 barrels of crude oil per day and was also scheduled to soon begin producing 20,000 barrels of renewable diesel fuel per day.
