On Thursday, May 7th China’s military court sentenced two former defense ministers, Wei Fenghe and Li Shangfu, to death with a two-year suspension.
According to the verdicts, Wei Fenghe was found guilty of accepting bribes and Li Shangfu was found guilty of accepting and paying bribes.
The two former officials were also former members of China’s Central Military Commission and state advisers.
The court has announced that both men will be permanently deprived of political rights and all their personal property will be confiscated.
