Afghan Consul General in Mashhad Meets with Iranian Foreign Ministry Representative

Noor Mohammad Mutawakel, Consul General of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Mashhad, met with Ghulam Abbas Arbab Khalis, the newly appointed head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s representation in the north and east of the country.

In this meeting, Mutawakil, while wishing Arbab Khalis success in his new mission, emphasized Afghanistan’s policy of good neighborliness with Iran and emphasized the importance of developing and deepening economic and trade relations between the two countries.

He also emphasized the need to remove transportation barriers on the common borders, especially the Dogharun-Islam Qala route, and to facilitate and accelerate the process of trade exchanges.

The meeting comes as efforts continue to strengthen economic cooperation between Kabul and Tehran.
