On the eve of World Press Freedom Day, the United Nations has emphasized the urgent need to protect journalists in Afghanistan.
The organization’s human rights department has called on the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to unconditionally release the detained journalists.
The organization also called on the international community to support independent Afghan media and journalists to ensure a better future.
The Islamic Emirate has not yet reacted to this matter, but it had previously emphasized its support for the activities of journalists in the country.
