EU continues technical contacts with Islamic Emirate regarding return of Afghan refugees

A spokesman for the European Commission said that technical contacts between EU officials and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to return Afghan refugees continue.

Marks Lammert said in a press conference that he could not confirm the possible invitation of a delegation from the Islamic Emirate to Brussels to discuss the deportation of Afghan nationals this summer.

He also emphasized that these technical contacts do not mean the resumption of diplomatic relations between the European Union and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
