Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia supported Iran’s position on the Strait of Hormuz at a Security Council meeting.
He criticized Western countries, accusing them of hypocrisy, and said that efforts are underway to attribute full responsibility for the situation in the Strait of Hormuz to Iran.
Nebenzia stressed that such claims are false and imply that Iran is the cause of disruption to maritime traffic.
