Chinese Navy moves to Gulf of Oman, moves towards Strait of Hormuz

Reports indicate that China’s 40th naval escort force, consisting of the guided missile destroyer Tangshan, frigate Daqing, and supply ship Taihu, has been transferred from an anti-piracy mission in the Gulf of Aden to the Gulf of Oman.

This task force has been tracked in the Gulf of Oman and reports indicate that it is moving towards the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, China has described the United States’ action in imposing the blockade as “irresponsible and dangerous” and warned of its consequences.
