Telephone conversation between the Foreign Ministers of Afghanistan and Iran about bilateral relations and regional developments

In a telephone call between Maulvi Amir Khan Mottaqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, and Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the two sides exchanged views on the latest developments in bilateral relations and important regional issues.

The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate assessed the process of bilateral cooperation as positive and progressing, and expressed satisfaction with the increase in the level of trade and the expansion of cooperation in various sectors.

Molavi Amir Khan Mottaqi considered the diplomatic approach between Iran and the United States of America a constructive step and emphasized resolving issues through dialogue and negotiation.

In turn, Sayyed Abbas Araqchi also praised the growing trend of cooperation and shared his views on further developing relations with the Afghan side. He also informed his Afghan counterpart about the latest status of negotiations between Iran and the United States.
