Mujahid: Islamic Emirate’s claim of connection with Al-Qaeda is baseless and has political goals

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, called the claims of links between members of the current government and al-Qaeda completely false and baseless, saying no outside group was active in Afghanistan.

Mujahid added that these claims are made with the aim of confusing the public mind against the Islamic Emirate, and the goal is to create propaganda and destabilize the political atmosphere.

He emphasized that these claims are made to damage the existing belief.

Prior to this, the Middle East Research Center had claimed in a report that nearly 55 members of the Islamic Emirate had ties to Al-Qaeda.
