The Times : Britain categorically denies Trump’s claim of involvement in the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz
The British newspaper The Times announced on Sunday evening that it had been informed that Britain would not participate in the US blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
On Sunday, US President Donald Trump, while ordering a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, claimed that Britain was sending minesweeping ships to the Middle East to collect mines that the Islamic Republic of Iran had laid in the Strait of Hormuz.
A British government spokesman, without responding to Trump’s claim, said: “We continue to support freedom of navigation and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, which is a priority to support the global economy and the cost of living in this country.”
