Secret Security Council meeting on Iran at Russia’s request

The Associated Press reported that the United Nations Security Council will hold a closed-door consultative meeting on Iran on Friday morning, New York time.

The news agency, citing diplomats, added that Russia requested the meeting to review US and Israeli attacks on civilian infrastructure in Iran.

This meeting is being held at a time when tensions in the region continue to rise, and Iran has repeatedly called attacks on its civilian facilities a gross violation of international law.
