Saudi Arabia and Türkiye welcome temporary ceasefire between Afghanistan and Pakistan during Eid al-Fitr

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed in an official statement the announcement of a temporary ceasefire between Afghanistan and Pakistan during Eid al-Fitr.

Riyadh praised the positive response from both sides and emphasized that dialogue and peaceful solutions are the best option to end tensions and disputes.

Saudi Arabia announced that it will continue its diplomatic efforts to ensure peace, stability, and security in the region.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry also welcomed the ceasefire between the two neighboring countries in a separate statement and expressed hope that it would be respected and pave the way for lasting peace and prosperity for the people of Afghanistan and Pakistan.

This welcome from regional countries comes at a time when the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan had previously announced a temporary halt to the Rejecting Injustice Defense Operation at the request of some brotherly countries, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Qatar.
