Iran demands compensation from the United Arab Emirates

Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations, in official letters addressed to the UN Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council, condemned the United Arab Emirates government’s action in making its territory and facilities available for US military attacks against Iran.

The letter states that the UAE’s internationally wrongful acts have given rise to the country’s international responsibility and require full compensation for damages, including payment of compensation for all material and moral damages caused to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran emphasized that the UAE bears legal and international responsibility for violating Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and participating in military aggression, and must be held accountable for the consequences of this action.

This position is being announced at a time when tensions in the Persian Gulf region have reached a peak and Iran has repeatedly warned that any collusion with the aggressors will be met with a decisive response.
