Iranian state television reported that a recent attack (possibly by the Israeli or American air force) on residential areas in Tehran caused severe explosions and injured at least 30 people.
Images released from the scene show thick black smoke, flames and extensive damage to residential buildings in one area of the capital.
Red Crescent and emergency rescue forces are transporting the injured and extinguishing the fire, and no further details have been announced yet on the number of martyrs or the exact cause of the attack.
This attack occurred in the wake of a wave of US and Israeli airstrikes on Iranian soil, raising tensions to a peak.
