The Israeli army issued evacuation notices for 53 villages in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa region

On Monday, March 2 the Israeli army issued an official warning requiring residents of 53 villages in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa region in the east of the country to evacuate immediately.

The Israeli army announced that residents should stay at least one kilometer away from the villages in question to avoid the proximity of Hezbollah members, stressing that this measure is being taken to protect the safety of civilians.

This warning was issued as tensions on Lebanon’s southern borders have sharply increased, and in recent days, reciprocal attacks between Hezbollah and the Israeli army have been reported.

Local sources in Lebanon reported that after the warning was issued, a wave of concern and displacement of people began in the targeted villages, but many residents have stated that they do not intend to leave their homes.
