General Vahidi appointed as new commander of the Revolutionary Guards

Following the martyrdom of Major General Mohammad Pakpour, Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, in joint attacks by the United States and the Zionist regime on Saturday morning, the Iranian government has appointed Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi as the new Commander-in-Chief of the Revolutionary Guard Corps.

In these criminal attacks, in addition to Sardar Pakpour, Major General Seyyed Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, Advisor to the Leader of the Revolution and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, and Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, Minister of Defense and Support of the Iranian Armed Forces, were martyred.

Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi, who previously commanded the IRGC’s Quds Force and the country’s Ministry of Interior, assumed the responsibility of Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC today and will pursue the mission of maintaining and strengthening Iran’s defense capabilities against foreign threats.
