Pakistan seeks refuge in Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Qatar to stop Afghan forces’ revenge attacks

Following the massive retaliatory operation by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s defense forces against Pakistani military positions along the hypothetical Durand Line, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry announced that the call discussed recent events and developments and the need to reduce violence.

According to media reports, Pakistan, while contacting Saudi Arabia, also contacted the foreign ministers of Oman and Qatar and asked these countries to mediate to stop attacks by Afghan forces on Pakistani militias.

These diplomatic measures by Pakistan are taking place while the Islamic Emirate has announced that the response to Pakistan’s aggression will be “decisive and certain,” and that retaliatory operations are continuing.

So far, none of the mediating countries, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Qatar, have issued an official statement on this matter.
