Iran’s electricity purchase contract extended for 2026; Breshna Board signs contract in Tehran

A high-level delegation of Afghanistan Breshna Company, led by Abdul Haq, the company’s associate CEO, during a trip to Iran, succeeded in signing an extension of the electricity purchase contract for the year 2025 with the Iranian side.

This trip was made at the invitation of the Tavanir Electricity Transmission and Distribution Management Company (Iran). The Afghan delegation in Tehran held a joint bilateral meeting with Iranian officials to discuss and exchange views on the development of electricity transmission infrastructure and the purchase of imported electricity.

The Breshna Company emphasized that the company’s leadership has strengthened cooperation and joint relations by holding numerous meetings with neighboring electricity-exporting countries, and as a result, more convenience has been provided in supplying imported electricity to Afghanistan.

This contract ensures the continued supply of sustainable electricity from Iran and is part of the Islamic Emirate’s efforts to improve access to electricity throughout the country.
