Aliyev accuses Russia of targeted attack on Azerbaijani embassy in Kiev at Munich conference

In his speech at the Munich Security Conference, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev claimed that his country’s embassy in Kiev had been attacked three times, and Baku considers these actions “a targeted attack by Russia.”

Aliyev stressed that after the first attack, the Azerbaijani government provided Moscow authorities with the exact coordinates of its diplomatic buildings to prevent such incidents from recurring, but despite this measure, two more attacks have occurred; he described these events as an “unfriendly step” against the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In response to these statements, the Russian Foreign Ministry categorically rejected the accusations, calling them “baseless.”

Moscow stated that the Russian armed forces were only targeting military targets and that any possible damage to the Azerbaijani embassy building may have been caused by the operation of Ukrainian air defense systems.
