Successful launch of Iran’s Jam Jam 1 satellite from Baikonur Space Center in Kazakhstan

Iran’s Jam Jam 1 communications satellite, with the international name IRANDBS, was successfully launched into space from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on Thursday 13th of February .

The satellite was carried by a Russian Proton-M heavy rocket and directed into a geostationary orbit at an altitude of 36,000 kilometers.

The released videos of the operation depict the technical preparation stages, issuing the launch order, separating the support arms, and the rocket’s takeoff in snowy weather conditions.

Jam Jam 1 is a geostationary satellite dedicated to the Iranian Broadcasting Network, which, after being stabilized in the orbital position of 34 degrees East, will provide interactive public broadcasting infrastructure and enhance the technical capabilities of the national media within the next 3 weeks.

The operational lifespan of this satellite is expected to be about 10 years..
