Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced in an interview with France 2 television that the official number of Ukrainian soldiers killed on the battlefield with Russia has reached 55,000.
He emphasized that in Ukraine, the official number of soldiers killed on the battlefield, both professional and conscripted, is 55,000, adding that in addition to this figure, a large number of people are also officially missing.
This figure represents a significant increase compared to Zelensky’s previous statements. In an interview with the American NBC network in February 2025, he said that more than 46,000 Ukrainian soldiers had died on the battlefield.
The Ukrainian president presented these figures as official statistics, emphasizing the continued heavy casualties in the long-running war with Russia.
