Trump: We are currently negotiating with Iran; if no agreement is reached, Operation Midnight Hammer may be repeated

US President Donald Trump announced that the United States is currently negotiating directly with Iran and said: “The Iranians would like to do something and we will see if something is actually done.”

Referring to the past, he added: “They had the opportunity to do something a while ago, but it didn’t work out, and we carried out Operation Midnight Hammer. I don’t think they want something like this to happen again, but they are willing to negotiate.”

“We are already negotiating with them,” Trump emphasized.

On the other hand, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said about the process of coordinating the talks based on President Masoud Pezzekian’s order: “Planning has been made to hold the talks in the next few days and consultations are underway to determine the location of the talks. Information will be provided as soon as they are finalized.”

Baqaei, expressing his gratitude to friendly countries that have made efforts to provide a diplomatic basis, stated that in principle, the location and time of the talks are not a complicated issue and should not be a tool for media play. Turkey, Oman, and some other countries in the region have announced their readiness to host, which is very valuable for Iran.
