Iranian media reported yesterday, February 1, that a severe explosion occurred in a residential building located on Moallem Boulevard in Bandar Abbas due to a gas leak.
Mohammad Amin, the head of the Bandar Abbas Fire Department, announced after an initial assessment that the cause of the explosion was a gas leak and that rescue and firefighting forces are still at the scene.
According to the latest statistics, the incident claimed the lives of two people and injured 14 others.
Earlier, initial reports indicated that a loud explosion was heard in some areas of the city, and it was determined that the incident occurred in a residential building.
The Director General of Crisis Management of Hormozgan Province urged citizens to pay attention only to official news and to refrain from spreading and following rumors.
