Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stressed that his country will under no circumstances allow its territory or airspace to be used to carry out any attack against Iran.
This official position of Azerbaijan was expressed after a telephone conversation on Thursday between Bayramov and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi. During the call, the two sides discussed recent developments in the region and bilateral relations between Tehran and Baku.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister’s remarks come amid heightened regional tensions and concerns about the possibility of some of the country’s neighboring countries being used for military action against Iran.
With this clear stance, Baku emphasized its non-interference in any hostile action against its southern neighbor.
