EU allocates €126 million in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran in 2026
The European Union announced that it has allocated 126 million euros within the framework of the 2026 humanitarian budget to respond to urgent humanitarian needs in the three countries of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iran.
The official announcement from the European Union states that this aid will be provided with the aim of providing emergency food supplies, providing health and medical services, supporting vulnerable groups, especially women, children and the elderly, and addressing the consequences of humanitarian crises, climate change and food insecurity in these countries.
The European Union emphasized that, despite the decline in humanitarian aid globally and financial pressures on donors, it remains committed to its commitment to supporting people in need in the region and is striving to respond effectively to humanitarian crises.
The announcement comes as the European Union is ahead of the launch of the second phase of the Afghan Women’s Economic Empowerment
